Man's Greatest Invention

When man invented the bicycle he reached the peak of his attainments. Here was a machine of precision and balance for the convenience of man. And (unlike subsequent inventions for man's convenience) the more he used it, the fitter his body became. Here, for once, was a product of man's brain that was entirely beneficial to those who used it, and of no harm or irritation to others. To share our experience and to encourage and inspire others to use a bicycle as a form of year round recreation and transportation. To be an example of living car-free and to help others to make the transition to having a car-light or car-free life style.

Single Speed Bicycle Tour of The Badlands

Highlights from our Drumheller road trip.

 Below is a 3000 seat outdoor theatre where the Passion Play is performed.




Based on the terrain, the buildings and the main character's name is Jesus .  I'm thinking it must be a western that takes place in Texas on the USA Mexican border.




The bike trail is a nice ride in the Badlands.

I love this area because it's not busy and surprisingly quiet.

Drumheller is a great place to explore by bicycle.  The roads and pathways take you directly to all of the area's natural attractions.  We have been to the Royal Tyrell museum on a previous trip, so this time, we simply explored the area on our bikes.  We did not use the car the whole time we stayed there. 

It was fun cycling in Drumheller.  While riding on the highway, we were amazed at how much room we were given by drivers.  Most drivers were incredibly courteous towards cyclists.  It was striking and pleasantly surprising.  Much different than being in the big city.



 

It's really a place you need to see for yourself.  I took photo after photo just feasting my eyes on the unique scenery. My camera and photography skills cannot compare to seeing the area with your own eyes.  The scenery is otherworldly.  Well worth the the trip.

    That looks like a really awesome place to ride. I have a single speed folding bike that I ride in the city where it's pretty flat - just wondering why you're riding single speeds out in the badlands - is it a derailleur maintenance thing?
