Man's Greatest Invention

When man invented the bicycle he reached the peak of his attainments. Here was a machine of precision and balance for the convenience of man. And (unlike subsequent inventions for man's convenience) the more he used it, the fitter his body became. Here, for once, was a product of man's brain that was entirely beneficial to those who used it, and of no harm or irritation to others. Progress should have stopped when man invented the bicycle. - Elizabeth West

Purpose and Mission

To share our experience and to encourage and inspire others to use a bicycle as a form of year round recreation and transportation. To be an example of living car-free and to help others to make the transition to having a car-light or car-free life style.

Our bodies is the engine that moves us.

Steamroller Rollercoaster

One of my favourite single speed bike rides is from Springbank Road @ 101st out to Highway 22 and back. The road reminds me of a giant roller coaster and a single speed bike is the perfect companion.

From my door it's 16.6 kms to this point.  This is where the fun really begins.

My destination is the intersection @ Highway 22 (Cowboy Trail), a further 11.4 kms directly west.  It's end of the road in this photo.

Yee Hah!  Giddy up and hang on!

Beautiful countryside with a fabulous view.

I crossed the highway and was looking back in the direction I came from.

The end of the pavement; a road for another time and bike.

Heading back into the city.

If you buy in this area, your child will be able to play guitar and sing to horses every morning before school.

Headed back to the core.
